Baby Boomers, prepare yourselves for a trip down memory lane. "Banana Formula" details Rocky & Bullwinkle's unwitting capture of a secret formula for a silent bomb known as a "hush-a-boom" and villains Boris and Natasha's ill-fated quest to steal the formula for Fearless Leader. Viewers will chuckle at the multitude of corny puns, reminisce over references to past popular culture like Candid Camera, and laugh out loud at the ever-dim Rocky & Bullwinkle and the escapades of the inept Boris and Natasha. Sprinkled between Rocky and Bullwinkle episodes are short vignettes featuring Peabody and Sherman, Mr. Know-It-All, Aesop and Son, Bullwinkle's Corner, Dudley Do-Right, and Fractured Fairy Tales. In "Peabody's Improbable History," Sherman and Peabody free Scotland's Bonnie Prince Charles from the British soldiers, "Mr. Know-It-All" can't make friends even with the help of his own book on the same subject, and "Aesop and Son" explores the premise that a monarch can't please everyone. "The Daffodils" carry an expensive price tag, "Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties" loses the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's only horse, and "Fractured Fairy Tales" tells of a dullard who wins a golden goose and the hand of a princess only to be henpecked for the rest of his life. Memories aplenty and 63minutes of pure fun await you. --Tami Horiuchi

5 out of 5 stars Spectacular!   October 26, 2001

The Moose and Squirrel have done it again!
In Vol.12, Banana Formula:
Bullwinkle can amazingly remember every thing he ever ate! Now, how you ask, can this talent get the two in trouble. It just so happens that Boris wrote a top secret formula on a banana, which Bullwinkle ate. Also includes daffodils, Dudley Do-Right, and a 24-karat goose. Mr. Know-It-All has trouble making friends, and Peabody and Sherman join Bonnie Prince Charlie. Made from 100% recycled Rocky and Bullwinkle jokes!

5 out of 5 stars Hush-a-Boom!   July 27, 2000

Sadly, this is the last in the set, but thankfully, it is just as funny as the first 11.

A great story of Bullwinkle swallowing the recipe for the silent explosive "hush-a-boom," Mr. Peabody & Sherman use the Way Back machine to visit the "Bonnie" Prince Charles, Mr. Know-It-All tries to make friends, Bullwinkle's Corner deals in daffodils, Fractured Fairy Tales presents the story of a 24-carat goose, Aesop & Son add a fable, and Dudley and Snidely go at it as only they can!

Hopefully you have more tapes from this hilarious series so when this one is finished, you can just start watching them all over again, and again, and again...

5 out of 5 stars We Have No Bananas Today!   May 30, 2000

Out of all of the Rocky and Bullwinkle videos, "Banana Formula " is my favorite. The story is: Fearless Leader tells Boris and Natasha to steal any formula. So they steel the formula for Hush- A-Boom, a silent explosive. After Boris gets the formula, he sees Rocky and Bullwinkle coming down the street towards him. In a hurry to hide the formula, Boris writes the formula on a banana from a nearby fruit stand. As Bullwinkle walks by, he is attracted to the fruit stand, and the bananas. So Bullwinkle buys the banana containing the 1 million dollar formula. The problem is that Bullwinkle can remember everything he has ever eaten! For the rest of the video Boris and Natasha are after Bullwinkle to get the formula from him. This is truly one of the greatest Rocky and Bullwinkle episodes! Also included in this video are the shorts "Mr. Know-It-All", "Aesop and Son", "Sherman and Peabody", "Fractured Fairy Tales", "Dudley Do-Right", and "Bullwinkle's Corner"!!! This is a laugh packed video for all ages! You will not be disappointed with this one!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Pulls together all of the memories.   November 29, 1998

For the Baby Boomer out there, it was Sept. 29, 1959 that the first Rocky and His Friends premiered on CBS. Each video in the series pulls together one "story" and adds Fractured Fairy Tales, Dudley Do-Right, Peabody, Aesop & Son, and Bullwinkle's Corner in a 45 minute memory trip. What fun!
